Lupine at the Preserve
The Jack Creek Preserve has incredible resources to share, and with the development of the Conservation Education Center, we will also have a building at which we can host students, teachers in training, and researchers. We look forward to expanding a relationship with regional universities in order to promote both wildlife conservation research and conservation education.
In one of our first higher education partnerships, the Preserve worked with Montana State University to develop a water quality monitoring program to collect baseline data for the Jack Creek Watershed. The program continues today.
In a new partnership, a team of graduate students from Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment have created a management plan for the Preserve that will help us balance our desire to protect and preserve our natural resources while also expanding use of the Preserve for educational purposes. Each year, the Jack Creek Preserve Foundation awards scholarships to two students who are entering college to study wildlife conservation or related fields. Learn more on our scholarship page.
